Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sr Software Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will collaborate with cross-functional peers to deliver value to our users through new feature prototypes, decompose complex problems into solutions, and lead technical projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with engineering leaders, developers, and other cross-functional peers to deliver value to our users.
  • Decompose problems or business scenarios into solutions composed of multiple software components and services interacting with each other.
  • Lead technical projects and actively participate in providing and receiving feedback.
  • Develop and deploy impactful, elegant, technically advanced changes to our solution.
  • Focus on code quality with meaningful test coverage and legibility for other engineers.
  • Contribute to our culture of continuous improvement.
  • Design software components in well-scoped scenarios, with simplicity and maintenance as key considerations.
  • Use metrics to evaluate and improve deployment and team effectiveness.
  • Integrate and use monitoring and alerting tools to resolve problems before they impact our users.
  • Actively mitigate risk of failed delivery and missed deadlines through transparent communication with colleagues and stakeholders throughout an agile lifecycle.
  • Identify and address technical debt and performance bottlenecks within our systems.
  • Share your expertise through in-house technical presentations and workshops.
  • Mentor junior developers to build up the whole team's technical impact.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of professional work experience in software development.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a similar field.
  • Experience leading full-stack development.

Skills:

  • ReactJS, React Native, or similar experience.
  • MongoDB, or similar database experience.
  • Kubernetes.
  • Platform Engineering.
  • Experience working in and communicating across cross-functional technical teams.
  • Experience applying software best practices, such as delivery metrics, test coverage, continuous integration/continuous development (CI/CD), scalability principles, and technical documentation.
  • Bonus points if you have experience with, or an active interest in, health technology.
