Senior Backend Developer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing scalable back-end systems that support our maritime operations platform.

About the Role:

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration of backend services with frontend applications, databases, and other core systems. You will take ownership of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the design and development of efficient software architecture.
  • Take ownership of the product lifecycle, from conceptualization through development and deployment.
  • Implement Test-Driven Development practices, including writing comprehensive unit tests, to ensure high-quality code.
  • Build reusable, modular code and libraries to promote efficiency and consistency across projects.
  • Optimize applications for maximum performance, speed, and scalability.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems and processes related to the products you own.

Requirements:

  • Strong programming foundation in Python, including debugging and performance analysis.
  • Experience in developing web applications and APIs, with good knowledge of Django or Flask frameworks.
  • Considerable expertise in secure software development and handling sensitive data.
  • Well-established experience in all phases of development, from requirement gathering to maintenance.
  • In-depth knowledge of Source Code Repository and Git.
  • Hands-on experience in DB design & Architecture with a focus on performance.
  • Knowledge of caching techniques and utilities like Memcache or Redis.
  • Experience working on Apache, Nginx, or other web/app servers.
  • Experience with containerization tool Docker.
  • Hands-on experience in enterprise-level deployment and scaling.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to solve complex problems.
  • Experience in writing reusable code and libraries.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.

  • Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement optimal solutions.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices and data protection regulations.
  • Ability to design scalable and efficient backend systems.
