**Data Migration Specialist Job Overview

As a seasoned data migration professional, you will play a pivotal role in our organization's digital transformation journey. Your expertise in designing and executing complex data migration projects will ensure seamless integration of our legacy systems with cutting-edge technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 1. Data Migration Strategy Development
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define the overall data migration strategy, scope, and roadmap aligned with business objectives and timelines.
    • Develop and implement comprehensive data mapping rules and transformation logic to ensure accurate data transfer.
  • 2. Project Execution & Delivery
    • Lead the end-to-end execution of data migration activities across all project phases: extraction, transformation, loading (ETL), validation, and reconciliation.
    • Manage the migration of master data, transactional data, and historical records from legacy systems to the target platform, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • 3. Data Quality & Governance
    • Establish and enforce robust data quality rules, cleansing standards, and validation procedures to maintain data accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
    • Coordinate data reconciliation, defect tracking, and issue resolution processes to ensure timely resolution of data-related issues.
  • 4. Stakeholder Management
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders regarding data migration progress, issues, and solutions, fostering a collaborative environment.
  • 5. Documentation & Support
    • Provide detailed documentation and support for data migration processes, enabling seamless knowledge transfer and onboarding.

Required Qualifications:

  • 1. Experience
    • 7+ years of experience in data migration, data integration, or data management roles, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • 2. Leadership Skills
    • Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle data migration project for a major enterprise, with a strong focus on stakeholder management and communication.
  • 3. Technical Skills
    • Proficiency in working with ERP platforms such as SAP, Oracle, and BAAN, as well as experience with data migration tools and technologies.
  • 4. Soft Skills
    • Strong understanding of data modeling, master data management (MDM), and data governance principles, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
