Our organization is looking for a senior engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the engineering team, mentoring and coaching junior members, and overseeing key responsibilities in project work.">Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare feasibility study reports to meet brief requirements in an agreed format, reviewing them with the CRC Head of Structures.
  • Collaborate with the WSP Team to assemble design specifications compliant with employer requirements, agreeing their format and content, and monitoring their preparation to ensure timely delivery.
  • Agree and monitor the scope of works with the CRC Head of Structures.
  • Determine building requirements and purpose of use with the CRC Head of Structures and the WSP Team to facilitate detailed design.
  • Carry out detailed design according to client requirements, adhering to standard codes, conducting QA and technical reviews, and obtaining sign-off from the CRC Head of Structures, including complex calculations and coordination issues.
  • Review and monitor the production of calculations, ensuring QA, technical reviews, and sign-off.
  • Ensure that information for project costing preparation is completed in detail and to deadlines, keeping the WSP Team informed about design progress through explanation of design decisions.
  • Coordinate project contracts documents (drawings and specifications) and review input from team members.
  • Lead the design process, encouraging the rest of the team to deliver appropriate and cost-effective solutions to the agreed program.
  • Follow document control and QA processes relevant to project work, ensuring drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately, and coach junior staff in their usage.
  • Manage a team of Engineers and Revit Technicians.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have significant experience in designing Building Structures, preferably in a similar role or with a good track record.
  • Strong presentation skills are essential.
  • Familiarity with technical structural software, such as RAM, CSC, ETABS, SAFE, and STAAD, is required.
  • A sound understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project is necessary.
  • Fluency in English with an excellent understanding of technical terminology is mandatory.
  • The candidate should demonstrate good management, communication, and technical skills, capable of working both within the team and independently, as dictated by workload.

Others:

A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering is required, along with membership to an accredited engineering body. Possession of British Chartered Engineer status or equivalent is desirable. At least 12 years of experience in a similar role is preferred.
