Senior Technical Consultant Role Overview

Serving as a technical thought leader and SME for our ecosystem of partners, customers, and service providers in the realm of Modern Apps & Platform Engineering, the Senior Technical Consultant works as part of the consulting team to lead the development, design, implementation and engagement leader of client solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements complex, mission-critical transformational enterprise grade technical solutions for clients.
    • Delivers high-quality technical solutions that meet client needs and expectations.
  • Develops high-quality deliverables and presentations for client engineering teams and senior leaders.
    • Creates compelling presentations that effectively communicate technical information to clients.
  • Creates and presents solution designs, options, ideas, and innovations to clients' senior leadership teams.
    • Presents technical solutions and ideas to clients' senior leadership teams.
  • Develops and maintains technical roadmaps and innovation plans.
    • Develops and maintains technical roadmaps to guide client solutions.
  • Develops and implements CI/CD solutions.
    • Designs and implements CI/CD pipelines to automate client deployments.
  • Establishes project estimates and plans, identifies risks and mitigations, oversees development and delivery of technical solutions.
    • Develops project plans and estimates to ensure timely delivery of client solutions.
  • Mentor and support project teammates.
    • Provides guidance and support to project teammates to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Actively leads collaboration within our technical communities.
    • Fosters collaboration and knowledge-sharing within the technical community.

Qualifications

  • Experience and ability to "jump on a whiteboard" in front of a customer to develop a solution to a business / technology goal or challenge.
    • Demonstrates ability to think creatively and develop solutions in a collaborative environment.
  • 6+ years of IT experience and 3+ years of Cloud, DevOps, Automation, Application Modernization, Digital Transformation experience.
    • Develops and maintains deep technical expertise in cloud, DevOps, and digital transformation.
  • Strong consulting and business acumen.
    • Develops and maintains strong business acumen to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Multiple certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Pro, AWS DevOps Engineer Pro, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Terraform Associate, etc.
    • Holds relevant technical certifications to demonstrate expertise.
  • Hands-on experience designing and implementing platform core services around compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, security, identity, etc.
    • Designs and implements platform core services to meet client needs.
  • Experience with organizational adoption of transformational initiatives – Platform Engineering, DevOps, DevSecOps, Cloud Transformation, Application Modernization.
    • Develops and maintains expertise in platform engineering, DevOps, and digital transformation.
  • Hands-on experience with IaC tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation.
    • Designs and implements infrastructure as code solutions to automate client deployments.
  • Experience with using and managing deployment services such as Harness, GitHub, Ansible, Jenkins, etc. Knowledge and usage of branching strategies is required.
    • Develops and maintains expertise in deployment services and branching strategies.
  • Hands-on experience in programming with Python or any scripting language.
    • Develops and maintains programming skills in Python and other scripting languages.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients.
  • Knowledge of modern cloud-native application design principles, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD Pipelines.
    • Develops and maintains expertise in cloud-native application design principles and DevSecOps.
  • Knowledge of enterprise organizations across multiple industries and inner IT functions (Enterprise Architecture, Operations).
    • Develops and maintains expertise in enterprise organizations and IT functions.
