Job Title: Technical Solutions Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to handle the execution of vessel retrofit projects.

This is a permanent, individual contributor role, ideal for a Marine Chief Engineer with expertise in docking, retrofit implementation, and stakeholder coordination.

The successful candidate will possess strong technical knowledge to manage engineering design reviews, class interactions, vendor negotiations, and real-time problem-solving during retrofits involving basic Energy Efficiency Technologies (EETs) like LEDs and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) to highly complex EETs like Water-Air Systems (WAPS), Air Lubrication Systems (ALS), Shore power, and Carbon Capture Systems (CCS).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. End-to-End Retrofit Management - Own retrofit projects from inception to completion, including feasibility analysis, layout planning, material flow, vendor timelines, and yard coordination.
  2. Engineering & Electrical Integration - Review design drawings, electrical interface scopes, and class/flag submissions. Liaise with engineering vendors and class societies for approvals.
  3. Techno-Commercial Offers & ROI - Prepare technical offers with ROI calculations, bonus/penalty models, and energy efficiency metrics for internal and client-facing stakeholders.
  4. Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination - Act as the single point of contact for owners, charters, yards, OEMs, and internal teams to ensure smooth execution.
  5. Project Documentation & RACI - Develop and manage project RACI charts, technical specs, work orders, and commissioning plans and maintain Project-related accounts.
  6. Hull/Paint Strategy & Execution - Lead Hull modification and paint selection discussions (e.g., silicone, advanced antifouling) and coordinate yard/OEM execution during dry dockings.
Requirements:
  • You are a Marine Engineer (Class 1 – Motor) with 1 to 2 years' experience ashore in technical management or yard roles.
  • Additionally, you have hands-on experience in two major drydocking/repairs involving tankers or bulkers.
  • Retrofit exposure in systems such as Exhaust Gas Treatment System (EGTS), Ballast Water Treatment System (BWTS), Scrubbers, VFDs, Ducts, Propellers, and Hull paint.
  • Comfortable in design reviews, electrical integration, and class interactions.
  • Commercial Acumen in ROI modeling, proposal creation, cost vs savings analysis.
  • Experience in MS Office tools, Power BI, Advanced Excel, and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) exposure (Optional).
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
