Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Director to join our team at Base8. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with our overall business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the overall business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with IT leaders and stakeholders to understand their needs and align procurement activities with IT initiatives.
  • Identify and evaluate potential IT vendors and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key IT vendors.
  • Analyze market trends and conditions to ensure competitive pricing.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality and performance.
  • Monitor and control procurement budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to IT procurement.
  • Assess and manage risks associated with IT procurement activities.
  • Develop and implement processes to mitigate potential risks.
  • Establish and enforce quality standards for IT products and services.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure that purchased solutions meet technical specifications and requirements.
  • Lead and manage a team of procurement professionals.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to the procurement team.
  • Foster a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Oversee the entire contract lifecycle, from negotiation to execution and performance monitoring.
  • Ensure that contracts are in compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and advancements in IT.
  • Understand the technology landscape to make informed procurement decisions.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement within the procurement function.
  • Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline procurement processes.
  • Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
  • Present procurement strategies and results to executive leadership.

Requirements

  • In-depth experience in managing end-to-end IT Procurement across multiple subcategories including but not limited to Software, Hardware, Cloud, Outsourcing, etc.
  • Experience with e-procurement and supply chain systems.
  • A strong commercial skill with the ability to build long-term relationships with stakeholders in the business as well as key suppliers.
  • Experience in working within a technology/telecommunications business in the supply chain, specializing in creating business value through strategic partnership agreements.
  • Familiarity with Framework/Master Services Agreements.
  • Strong academic background is beneficial but not essential.
  • Procurement technical skills including negotiation skills, contract drafting, drafting of relevant RfPs, etc, and use of category management techniques in setting category plans.
  • Outstanding negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient in the use of all Microsoft Applications, especially MS Excel.
  • Excellent communicator in written, verbal, and presenting skills.
