Job Summary:

The Senior System Administrator will be responsible for the administration, configuration, and reliable operation of Attero's IT systems. This role requires a deep understanding of system and network management, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ideal candidates will have significant experience in managing complex IT environments, a proactive approach to system maintenance and optimization, and a strong understanding of system, network, and security protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

System Management:

  • Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, and applications.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and performance.
  • Perform regular system backups and verify that backups are functioning correctly.
  • Apply OS patches and upgrades regularly and upgrade administrative tools and utilities.

Network Administration:

  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
  • Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network-related issues.

Storage and Backup:

  • Manage storage solutions and ensure data is properly backed up.
  • Configure and maintain backup systems, perform regular backups, and restore data as needed.

Project Management:

  • Lead or participate in IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and new implementations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for hardware and software procurement and maintenance.

User Support:

  • Provide technical support and assistance to end-users for hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Develop and maintain documentation on system configurations, procedures, and policies.

Security Management:

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems and data.
  • Monitor security systems, detect potential threats, and respond to security breaches.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies and regulatory requirements.

Automation & Scripting:

  • Develop scripts to automate routine tasks and improve system efficiency.
  • Implement automation tools to reduce manual interventions and streamline system administration.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology/MCA.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in system administration, network administration, or IT support.
  • Skills & Competencies:
  • Proficiency in Windows/Linux/Unix operating systems.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g, VMware, Hyper-V).
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms (e.g, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
