Cloud Database Consultant – MS SQL

This position requires a seasoned database expert with expertise in designing and implementing scalable and secure database solutions on the cloud using MS SQL and Oracle. The successful candidate will lead delivery teams during customer workshops, engage with clients to define and design database architecture, and implement solutions to ensure performance, security, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain database environments on AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and ensure seamless integration with third-party systems.
  • Hands-on experience with installation and configuration, schema handling, user and security management, backup and restore, and database administration for MS SQL and Oracle.
  • Architect-level knowledge of server security, DR replication monitoring/configuration, high availability, failover, and replication.
  • Expertise in developing and optimizing database structures to ensure data integrity, performance, and security.
  • Implement MS SQL and Oracle-related tools, write scripts for automation, and perform advanced database performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge in setting up MS SQL and Oracle in HA architecture.
  • Plan and implement backup strategies following best practices.
  • Provide integration support with third-party monitoring systems.
  • Administer Linux and Windows environments for database deployments.
  • Familiarity with virtual machines and container technologies is a plus.
  • Experience with JDBC connection pools and database integration is preferred.

Additional Must-Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of AWS and DB migration experience.
  • Hands-on experience migrating database workloads onto RDS or native EC2.
  • Good understanding of HA and replication mechanisms for databases.
  • Practical experience in 3-tier solutioning.
