Senior Data Engineer Job Description

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in crafting and implementing scalable solutions that transform data prototypes into impactful applications. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and architects to develop robust, high-quality data pipelines that cater to analytics and reporting needs.

A successful candidate will possess a strong background in data engineering, with expertise in designing, developing, and scaling complex data and feature pipelines feeding machine learning models. They should be proficient in SQL and another programming language, and have significant experience with cloud platforms and containerization technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Designing and building high-performance data pipelines that support analytics and reporting requirements
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enable analytics and ML use cases
  • Developing and optimizing DBT models for scalable data transformations
  • Managing environments, performance tuning, and configuration for cloud-native data solutions
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 7+ years of data engineering or design experience
  • 5+ years of experience in ML lifecycle using Azure Kubernetes service, Azure Container Instance service, Azure Data Factory, Azure Monitor, Azure DataBricks
  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering using Snowflake
  • Experience in designing, developing & scaling complex data & feature pipelines feeding ML models and evaluating their performance
  • Proficiency in SQL and any one other programming language (e.g., R, Python, C++, Minitab, SAS, Matlab, VBA)
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools
