Lead Steel Plant Project

As the pivotal leader of engineering activities, you will oversee all aspects of steel plant project execution from conceptualization to commissioning. This role demands extensive experience in heavy industrial projects, particularly in the steel sector, with a strong focus on project execution, technical excellence, safety, and cost control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall engineering strategy for the steel plant project, aligning with project goals, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Lead the conceptual design, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering phases to ensure seamless integration of all engineering disciplines.
  • Participate in the selection and management of contractors, consultants, and vendors to achieve optimized plant design and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant national and international codes, standards, and best practices for all engineering designs, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Implement robust quality control procedures and drive value engineering initiatives to optimize design, reduce costs, and improve plant performance.
  • Manage the engineering schedule and budget, identifying potential deviations and implementing corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with procurement, construction, and operations teams to ensure timely project execution.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Metallurgical, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering preferred).
  • MBA is a plus for those seeking leadership roles in engineering.
  • Minimum 20-25 years of progressive experience in engineering roles within heavy industrial projects, including 5-10 years in a leadership/head of engineering capacity for steel plant projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large, multi-disciplinary engineering teams and external consultants.
