Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-quality PCBs conforming to industry standards and certifications, ensuring efficient and reliable circuit operation.
  • Analyze project requirements, create innovative design solutions, select suitable components, and implement circuit and PCB designs.
  • Update designs according to changing customer or internal requirements, ensuring timely delivery and meeting expectations.
  • Understand and manage the PCB design workflow, including circuit design, component selection, PCB layout, and Gerber generation.
  • Develop component footprints and maintain in-house Probots component libraries, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Work on projects involving battery power, wireless antennas, high-density components, and other complex technologies, staying up-to-date with industry trends and advancements.
  • Comfortably work with high-component-density PCBs, high-speed signals, high-voltage signals, and multilayer PCBs (6-12 layers), adhering to standard DFM principles.
  • Participate in circuit/pcb review, technical reviews, and ensure the quality of deliverables, meeting company standards and expectations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in embedded development, applying continuous learning and professional growth.
Requirements

Experience & Skill:

  • 0-2 years of experience in end-to-end Embedded Hardware Design - Circuit to PCB, with a strong foundation in electronics fundamentals.
  • Excellent electronics knowledge, including digital circuits, analog circuits, active and passive components, and other relevant areas.
  • Experience/knowledge in the (DLC) product development lifecycle from initial requirements to final product release, with a solid understanding of industry standards and certifications.
  • IPC process certification in PCB designing is an advantage, as is familiarity with leading PCB design software.
  • Excellent debugging skills, with experience working with multimeters, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes, and ability to interpret common component datasheet tables and data.
  • Basic understanding of hardware blocks, including clocks, PLLs, GPIO, interrupt controllers, power management, and peripherals.
  • Linux concepts: basics, with a solid understanding of programming concepts, including C/Python basics.
  • Able to work independently and as a team player, with a professional attitude, strong work ethics, self-motivation, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, debugging skills, and interpretation skills, with a passion for IoT, interest in experimenting, and a go-getter attitude.

Nice to have

  • Embedded hardware expertise: at least 1 year of experience in designing PCBs.
  • Proven experience in getting PCBs to production, from customer requirements, PCB design, prototype, and production.
  • Strong background in embedded systems development, including MODBUS, RS-485, Bluetooth, WiFi, CAN, Ethernet.
  • Experience dealing with the Linux community and open-source contribution is a plus.
