Job Summary:

The Field Project Controls Manager is responsible for supervising construction schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities. This role supports project organizational and administrative activities, identifies and provides innovative solutions to planning/scheduling problems, and provides construction and startup scheduling guidance to projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Owner in managing schedule development, maintenance, monitoring, impact identification, and recovery plan development activities.
  • Conducts regular project review meetings with the Owner and prepares and presents planning and scheduling information to management.
  • Identifies early activities and need lists to kick-start project execution.
  • Creates and implements measurement systems for established processes, analyzes performance metric results, and identifies improvements.
  • Uses tools to analyze metrics and measurement systems to identify bias, repeatability, and stability issues.
  • Provides leadership in integrating key project procedures, such as Change Management, Forecasting, Trends, and Claims, and supports stakeholders in managing project control activities.
  • Monitors and approves changes and maintains the change register.
  • Performs integration of individual construction schedules into the total project plan.
  • Performs schedule resource loading and leveling.
  • Maintains open communications with other stakeholders to support schedule maintenance and reporting.
  • Identifies schedule risks and maintains the risk register, carrying out quantitative and qualitative risk analysis and suggesting mitigations.
  • Identifies and reports activities with critical or potential impact on the schedule.
  • Develops schedule recovery plans and takes remedial actions to recover the project as applicable.
  • Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements.
  • Monitors and reports construction progress, implementing progress recovery plans as applicable.

Requirements:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated experience in planning and scheduling functions, including schedule development, control, and analysis, in the field.
  • Demonstrated skill in management, supervisory, and personnel administrative functions.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management/client.
  • Expert level of knowledge of contracts, construction, and startup work processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in delivery, communication, and training of risk processes and procedures.
  • Experience in performing, monitoring, and reviewing planning & cost engineering functions, which include planning reports, cost control and cost analysis, at site.
  • Considered subject matter expert within discipline.
  • Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
