Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality menu items, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare basic menu items requested by supervisors, showcasing advanced knife handling skills.
- Flexible to work in any kitchen section, possessing good food knowledge and culinary terms understanding.
- Read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes efficiently.
- Proficient in completing tasks productively, maintaining high work standards.
- Follow Public Health regulations according to company expectations within their section.
- Maintain assigned areas for inspections, adhering to US and international standards.
- Report for duty on time, following supervisor instructions and maintaining personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene according to company rules.
Financial Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cost containment through proper record-keeping, supply management, and equipment maintenance.
Motivational Responsibilities:
- This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Education:
- Minimum 4 years of experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships, with at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
- Culinary school degree is required.
- Strong management skills in multicultural environments, excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
- Knowledge of personalized service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
- Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
- Intermediate computer software skills required.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, debits/credits, adjusting entries, and corrections.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence, establishing good rapport with Senior Officers and the corporate office.
