Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a key member of our culinary staff, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality menu items, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, and providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare basic menu items requested by supervisors, showcasing advanced knife handling skills.
  • Flexible to work in any kitchen section, possessing good food knowledge and culinary terms understanding.
  • Read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes efficiently.
  • Proficient in completing tasks productively, maintaining high work standards.
  • Follow Public Health regulations according to company expectations within their section.
  • Maintain assigned areas for inspections, adhering to US and international standards.
  • Report for duty on time, following supervisor instructions and maintaining personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene according to company rules.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for cost containment through proper record-keeping, supply management, and equipment maintenance.

Motivational Responsibilities:

  • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications and Education:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in upscale hotels, resorts, or cruise ships, with at least 2 years as a Line Cook (shipboard experience preferred).
  • Culinary school degree is required.
  • Strong management skills in multicultural environments, excellent communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
  • Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of personalized service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
  • Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills.
  • Intermediate computer software skills required.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, debits/credits, adjusting entries, and corrections.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence, establishing good rapport with Senior Officers and the corporate office.
