Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) DevOps Leader

We are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our cloud-native infrastructure strategy.

As an AKS DevOps Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure. Your expertise in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) will be invaluable in driving business growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Define the end-to-end architecture for AKS-based workloads in Azure, ensuring scalability, security, and high availability.
  • Design multi-environment, multi-region AKS architectures to meet the needs of our global operations.
  • Establish best practices for container orchestration, scaling, governance, and cost optimization in AKS.
Technical Expertise:
  • Architect and provision AKS clusters with features like cluster and node pool autoscaling, private cluster configuration, network isolation using Azure CNI / Kubenet, managed identities, and Azure AD integration.
  • Integrate AKS with supporting Azure services: Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus & Grafana, Azure Container Registry (ACR), and Azure Key Vault.
DevOps & Automation:
  • Design Infrastructure as Code solutions with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates for AKS provisioning, ensuring consistency and repeatability.
  • Implement GitOps workflows (e.g., ArgoCD, Flux) for automated deployments, reducing human error and increasing efficiency.
  • Define CI/CD architecture using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins for AKS workloads, streamlining the development process.
Security & Compliance:
  • Architect RBAC and Azure AD security models for AKS access, ensuring least privilege and segregation of duties.
  • Integrate security scanning for container images and Kubernetes workloads, detecting vulnerabilities and improving compliance.
  • Ensure alignment with industry standards and governance policies, maintaining the highest level of security and integrity.
Monitoring, Logging, & Observability:
  • Architect observability solutions using Azure Monitor, Managed Prometheus, Container Insights, and Grafana, providing real-time visibility into system performance.
  • Establish automated alerting, anomaly detection, and incident response playbooks, minimizing downtime and maximizing uptime.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Architecture, or related fields.
  • 5+ years of hands-on Azure experience, with deep AKS expertise.
  • Strong technical expertise in Kubernetes architecture & troubleshooting, Azure networking (VNet, NSG, Private Link), IaC tools (Terraform, Bicep, ARM), and container security and governance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA).
  • Experience with service mesh architectures (Istio, Linkerd, OSM).
  • Familiarity with multi-cluster management tools (Azure Arc, Fleet).
  • Experience in workload migration to AKS.
