The Editorial Review Manager role is pivotal in upholding the highest standards of scientific rigor and editorial excellence for a globally recognized journal.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing review teams to foster a collaborative high-performance culture.
  • Overseeing the complete manuscript review workflow from submission to publication, ensuring efficiency, innovation, and team success.
  • Identifying process inefficiencies and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to optimize throughput and reduce timelines.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of scientific publishing practices and collaborating with the editorial department to provide authors with a clear, streamlined experience.
  • Collaborating with external stakeholders to ensure a seamless peer and editorial review process.
  • Tracking key performance metrics to ensure alignment with departmental and organizational goals.
  • Identifying opportunities for new journal sections and special content aligned with emerging research trends.

Requirements:

  • A Ph.D. in life sciences.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in academic or scientific publishing with expertise in peer review and editorial workflows.
  • Demonstrated success in leading and managing editorial or review teams.
  • Strong knowledge of peer review models, open access publishing, and evolving trends in scholarly communication.
  • Experience with digital publishing platforms and workflow automation tools, preferably Editorial Manager.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to design and implement process improvements.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with a results-driven mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
