Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Expert to join our team as a Line Cook.
Main Responsibilities:The ideal candidate will have experience in preparing a variety of dishes, under the guidance of senior chefs. They will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction.
Key Accountabilities:
- Possess advanced knife handling skills and work efficiently in any kitchen section.
- Understand culinary terms and be able to read, understand, follow, and prepare company recipes.
- Maintain high standards of public health and hygiene within their section, adhering to international guidelines.
- Report for duty at assigned times and ensure personal appearance, uniform, and hygiene meet company rules.
Financial Management:
This position is responsible for cost containment through proper use, handling, and maintenance of records, reports, supplies, and equipment.
Motivational Aspects:
This role does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications and Education:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in an upscale hotel, resort, cruise ship, or convention banqueting service.
- A culinary school degree is required.
- Strong management skills essential in a multicultural and dynamic environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and people skills necessary.
- Superior customer service, teambuilding, and conflict resolution skills required.
- Knowledge of personalized services, including needs assessment techniques, quality service standards, alternative delivery systems, and guest satisfaction evaluation techniques.
- Strong planning, coaching, organizing, staffing, controlling, and evaluating skills necessary.
- Intermediate computer software skills required.
- A good understanding of basic accounting principles, such as numbering flow, debits/credits, adjusting entries, and corrections.
- Ability to write reports and business correspondence, and establish a good rapport with senior officers and the corporate office.
Internal Candidate Requirements:
Completion of at least one contract as Commis Cook with a performance rating of satisfactory or above, along with demonstrated leadership skills.
