Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with expertise in Wireless and F5 technologies to join our team at ScaleneWorks. As a Network Engineer - Wireless and F5 Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-availability network infrastructure, including core LAN connectivity, multi-protocol LAN networks, and F5 load balancers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and maintain core LAN connectivity in support of servers, storage, applications, and other hardware and devices used to support services to the end user.
  • Support and maintain multi-protocol LAN networks, including managing addresses and addressing schemes, managing customer-specific network addressing schemes, and providing LAN-based support for all systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot F5 LTM and APM, and provide level 2 support for customers.
  • Extensively work on code upgrades and downgrades, and configure virtual F5 LTM modules on VMware for application testing.
  • Configure VCMP hosts and create VCMP guests for Exchange and ACE migrations, and create high-availability features between VCMP guests for different VCMP hosts.
  • Have extensive knowledge in configuration via CLI (TMSH and advanced shell), good knowledge on basic iRules scripting and debugging, and create custom profiles, health monitors, and configure SNAT pools, syslog, and SNMP.
  • Implement major application services with iApps templates, and have extensive knowledge and experience regarding F5 BIG-IP LTM VIP configuration with health check, and hosting SSL certificates on F5 platforms.
  • Experience in managing load balancers in a high-availability infrastructure, and solid understanding and experience in managing data center LAN.
  • Must be able to demonstrate excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and good communication skills.
  • Good understanding of L3-level switching and routing protocols, and products like H3C devices, Alcatel Lucent DWDM, Checkpoint firewalls, F5 load balancers, IPAM, Netscout packet capture and flow analyzer.
  • Management of onsite vendors during implementation activity and day-after support, and escalation point for network implementation issues - Telco, cabling, and managed service vendor.
  • Analyze and solve application-related problems, and apply advanced network troubleshooting techniques required to analyze and solve protocol routing problems within large geographically dispersed networks.
  • Configure network switches, VLANs, VTP, and implement features of each communication type in a large network, and configure virtual LANs and VLAN trunk protocols in a switched network.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6-10 years' experience in L3 network support.
  • Proven ability in learning and upgrading new technologies/technical skills.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with BIG-IP 5000 and 2000 series.
  • Licensing and provisioning of F5 modules such as LTM, GTM, VCMP (Virtual Cluster Multi Processing).
  • ITIL V3 Foundation Certification is desired.
