About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Python Backend Developer to design, build, and scale backend systems for our global art information platform. In this role, you will work on integrating advanced AI models into production environments, powering features such as recommendations, personalization, and intelligent search.

This position is ideal for someone passionate about backend development and excited to bring AI-driven user experiences to life at scale. Experience in recommendation systems is a strong advantage but not a strict requirement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Backend Development: Build and maintain robust backend services in Python (FastAPI, Django, or Flask).
  • AI Integration: Integrate machine learning models into production APIs and pipelines for recommendations and personalization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with ML engineers and product teams to deliver AI-driven features.
  • API Development: Develop low-latency APIs for serving recommendations and intelligent results.
  • Database Management: Work with databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch) to power similarity search and embeddings.
  • Deployment and Scaling: Deploy, monitor, and scale services in cloud environments (AWS preferred).
  • System Architecture and Optimization: Contribute to system architecture, performance optimization, and design decisions.
Requirements:
  • Backend Expertise: Strong understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems.
  • Production-Ready Code: Proven track record of building and deploying production-ready code.
  • AI Knowledge: Experience integrating AI models or services into backend infrastructure.
  • Cloud Platforms: Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform).
  • Database Skills: Database skills: SQL (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, Elasticsearch).
  • Communication and Collaboration: Excellent communication and collaboration skills in remote team settings.
