The Academic Coordinator is a critical role in supporting the academic programs at an educational institution. This position involves coordinating curriculum development, course scheduling, student support and advising, academic policies and procedures, and program evaluation and assessment.


Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Collaborate with faculty members and subject matter experts to develop and review academic curricula, including identifying learning objectives, selecting instructional materials, and ensuring alignment with educational standards and regulations.
  • Course Scheduling: Plan and organize course schedules for each academic term or semester, considering student enrollment and faculty availability, and ensuring a balanced and efficient timetable.
  • Student Support and Advising: Provide guidance and support to students regarding course selection, academic requirements, and program progression, assisting them in understanding degree requirements, resolving academic issues, and connecting them with resources and support services.
  • Academic Policies and Procedures: Ensure compliance with academic policies and procedures established by the institution, communicating these policies to faculty and students, addressing questions or concerns, and maintaining records of policy adherence.
  • Program Evaluation and Assessment: Collaborate with faculty and administration to evaluate the effectiveness of academic programs, collecting and analyzing data, conducting surveys or assessments, and making recommendations for program improvements based on feedback and evaluation results.

Requirements
  • Master's Degree: A Master's degree in Education or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 3 years of experience in academic coordination or related roles in higher education.
  • Language: Proficient in English as a first language.
  • License/Certification: A B.Ed. certification is preferred.
