Job Summary

At BlackLine, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer to play a vital role in the performance, delivery, stability, and security of our databases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in cross-functional teams and build relationships across the organization.
  • Design and implement high-performance, scalable, and secure database systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and quality by developing and implementing data validation and verification processes.
  • Maintain standard policies for database development activities, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Provide database solutions based on technical documents and business requirements, working closely with stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Analyze database performance and capacity issues, identifying root causes and implementing solutions to improve system efficiency and performance.
  • Lead database engineering projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery and implementation.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for database systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in database engineering, with a minimum of 3+ years of experience in high-transaction environments. You should have advanced knowledge of different index types and their usage, as well as experience with performance tuning and optimization using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools and techniques.
