Regulatory Horizon Scanning Specialist

The role involves monitoring global and regional regulatory bodies for new and updated regulations, consultation papers, and guidance. The successful candidate will build and optimise AI-enabled pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured regulatory publications.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Continuously monitor global and regional regulatory bodies for new and updated regulations, consultation papers, and guidance.
  • Build and optimise AI-enabled pipelines to ingest and process structured and unstructured regulatory publications.
  • Automate the classification of regulatory documents using NLP, LLMs, and machine learning to identify topics, obligations, timelines, and impacted regulations.
  • Extract obligations and key data requirements from regulatory texts, speeches, consultation papers, and technical standards.
  • Map regulatory changes to the bank's reporting frameworks/reporting solution and internal policies.
  • Support impact assessments for upcoming regulations such as Basel III/IV, EMIR Refit, MiFID II, SFTR, IFRS 9, IREF, ESG, and climate risk reporting.
  • Train, fine-tune, and validate NLP/GenAI models to improve regulatory document interpretation and summarisation.

Qualifications include strong analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to interpret complex regulations into clear business impacts. Candidates with experience collaborating in global banking or RegTech programmes are preferred.

Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, and ML techniques for text classification, summarisation, entity extraction, and topic modelling. Proficiency in Python is a must, along with experience working with data integration/ETL tools and cloud platforms.
