  • Develop and implement cutting-edge CFD simulations using OpenFOAM for 2D airfoils, 3D wings, and full aircraft models.
  • Analyze and interpret complex flow regimes, from incompressible to hypersonic conditions, to optimize aerodynamic performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to select and apply suitable solvers, turbulence models, and thermophysical models based on simulation needs.
  • Design and generate high-quality meshes using OpenFOAM's native meshing tools or external pre-processors to ensure accurate results.
  • Write and maintain Python scripts for automation of pre-processing, simulation control, and post-processing to streamline workflows.
  • Extract and analyze critical aerodynamic performance metrics, including lift, drag, pressure distribution, and shock characteristics.
  • Validate CFD results through comparison with experimental data or established literature to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Document simulation setups, assumptions, and findings for internal use and reporting to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with OpenFOAM for aerodynamic simulations, with a strong understanding of fluid mechanics and aerodynamics principles.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and interpret complex data to drive informed decision-making.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for CFD automation, with experience in mesh generation tools compatible with OpenFOAM.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with hypersonic flow physics and related modeling techniques.
  • Experience in HPC environments and parallel computing to optimize simulation performance.
  • Knowledge of turbulence and transition modeling to improve accuracy and reliability.
  • Exposure to aircraft design or UAV aerodynamics to expand your expertise and contribute to our innovative projects.
