Job Purpose:

  • Lead the development of Body, Comfort, Energy, Instrument Cluster and Switches to meet future Indian product and manufacturing requirements.
  • Ensure product localization, conduct product/vehicle level tests in India, and coordinate product certifications.
  • Coordinate projects with internal and external teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Represent the Engineering department in various forums and discussions.
  • Manage project timelines, costs, and quality, ensuring successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Body, Comfort, Energy, Instrument Cluster and Switches department, making strategic decisions and mitigating risks.
  • Localize components and systems, ensuring design, development, and validation meet project-defined standards and targets.
  • Adhere to the Product Development Process (PEP) guidelines, achieving milestones within stipulated timelines and desired results.
  • Facilitate product team meetings, discussions with internal and external teams, and suppliers to arrive at optimal solutions.
  • Develop internal capability to ensure robust compliance with Group processes and legislative requirements.
  • Monitor department budget and capacity, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
  • Manage and motivate the team, delegating tasks, setting targets, evaluating performance, and recommending remuneration.
  • Identify and coordinate new Indian technologies, development opportunities, and market trends.
  • Support and guide the department with expertise in component development, testing, and project management.

Authority and Skills:

  • Contribute to E&E strategy development.
  • Design, data approval, and release at project milestones.
  • Initiate and propose technology-driven initiatives.
  • Encourage and facilitate team and resource management.
  • Excellent communication skills, fluency in English, and German/Czech language proficiency is an added advantage.
  • Expert knowledge of wiring harness, electronics component, and system design and development, and vehicle integration.
  • Deep understanding of the Indian automobile market, legislative requirements, vehicles, customers, products, and manufacturing needs.
