Teaching Music for Children with Special Needs

We are seeking a highly skilled music educator to join our team. The ideal candidate must have expertise in designing and implementing music lessons that accommodate varying learning styles and abilities, including students with autism, physical disabilities, learning difficulties, or emotional/behavioural challenges.

The music teacher will work with learners with multiple disabilities and guide participants in the NIOS programme. If you are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs, we invite you to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and Implementing Music Lessons
    • Utilise assistive technologies, visual aids, instruments, and alternative communication methods to support student participation.
  • Supporting Students
    • Promote music as a means of self-expression, communication, and emotional regulation.
  • Collaboration and Assessment
    • Collaborate with occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other specialists to integrate therapeutic goals into musical activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's or P.G Diploma in Carnatic/Hindustani Music, Certificate course in Music Therapy (preferred)
  • 3 to 7 years of working with children in a mainstream school/Special school
  • Teaching qualification or experience in special education (Preferred)
