Network Reliability Engineer Role Overview

This role focuses on designing and implementing network security strategies and platforms for next-generation operations across all Marriott International networks.

The Network Reliability Engineer will work closely with a matrix team of expert network architects and engineers to drive the adoption of NRE practices and operating models across all network product towers.

  • Maintaining Goals:
    • Deliver reports in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
    • Document project progress accurately.
    • Provide input and assistance to other teams regarding projects.
  • Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:
    • Provide technical expertise and support to internal teams.
    • Stay up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to job duties.
    • Use computers and computer systems to process information.
  • Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders:
    • Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders.
    • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work.
    • Collaborate with internal partners and stakeholders to support business strategies.
  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
    • 6+ years' experience with network security tools and products.
    • Experience with zero-trust security tools such as Cisco ISE, Forescout, Firewall Management solutions, Palo Alto Panorama, Checkpoint MDS, and other similar tools.
    • Expertise in designing and implementing policies in the mentioned tools.
    • Experience with cloud computing platforms like Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Compute Engine.
    • Knowledge and experience with wireshark/tcpdump/nmap analysis techniques.
    • Experience in developing, documenting, and managing requirements gathering processes.
    • Field experience and knowledge of foundational data networking and IP technologies including ARP, TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, DNS, NAT, and others.
    • Understanding of TACACS+, RADIUS.
    • Experience in Agile methodologies, daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, and user story preparations.
    • Hands-on experience with common routing and switching platforms like Cisco, Juniper, HP/Aruba.
    • Demonstrated experience in delivering written documents detailing network solutions and diagrams.
    • Technical knowledge in Load Balancing such as ELBs, NLBs, F5 BigIP.
