Job Title: Project Cost Controller

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake project cost analysis and control, ensuring alignment with budgetary targets.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on project costs for large-scale projects, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Track costs across engineering, procurement, and construction phases, identifying areas of variance and suggesting corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed variance reports, analyzing the causes of deviations between budgeted and actual costs.
  • Financial Management:
  • Validate petty cash and non-PO based expenses, supplier assessment, advance to suppliers, utilization of credit facility and credit period.
    • Progress Monitoring and Reporting:
    • Collaborate with project teams to track progress and update percentage-of-completion calculations.
    • Provide insights and reports on cost performance, profit margins, and project cash flow, facilitating informed decision-making.
      • Contract and Cost Compliance:
      • Ensure compliance with contractual agreements and financial regulations, maintaining the integrity of project finances.
      • Validate costs in line with contract terms and identify cost overruns or savings opportunities, optimizing resource allocation.
      • Conduct audits to ensure accurate cost allocation, safeguarding against potential risks.
      • Inventory and Procurement Cost Management:
      • Work with procurement to control and analyze material and service costs, implementing strategies to minimize waste and optimize spend.
      • Implement initiatives to reduce costs and improve efficiency, enhancing project value.
        • Risk Management and Cost Optimization:
        • Identify potential risks related to project costs, including scope changes, delays, or unexpected expenses, mitigating their impact.
        • Recommend strategies for cost reduction, ensuring long-term sustainability.
          • Fixed Assets Management at Project Site:
          • Track, record, and monitor fixed assets to ensure proper utilization and maintenance.
          • Oversee asset capitalization, depreciation calculations, and compliance with relevant accounting standards, safeguarding asset value.
          • Conduct periodic asset audits and reconcile asset records, maintaining transparency and accuracy.
            • Financial Reporting and Forecasting:
            • Prepare regular financial and cost reports, analyzing project expenses and forecasting costs for project budgeting purposes.
            • Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports detailing variances, expected cost overruns, and other key financial metrics, enabling data-driven decision-making.
