Job Title: Merchandise Development Specialist

Description:

We seek a skilled Production Merchandiser to oversee the development of activewear products. This role ensures timely delivery of high-quality products by bridging the gap between design, production, and sales.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate sample development with the design team.
  2. Liaise with in-house production teams to monitor sample production, resolve technical or production issues, and ensure quality standards.
  3. Work on product costing and optimal selling price, monitoring fabric usage, trims, and production processes for efficiency without compromising quality.
  4. Conduct regular quality checks at key production stages, highlight defects or deviations, and implement corrective measures with production and quality teams.
  5. Maintain accurate production tracking documents and provide timely updates on production status and potential delays.
  6. Coordinate with design, sales, sourcing, and logistics teams to ensure alignment on delivery timelines, material availability, and order fulfillment.
  7. Manage and track the production schedule from development through bulk manufacturing, ensuring seasonal collections and special projects meet deadlines.
  8. Ensure tech packs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and production specifications are complete, accurate, and communicated to the production floor.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising, Textile Engineering, Apparel Production, or a related field.
  2. 4+ years of experience in apparel production merchandising, preferably in activewear or sportswear segments.
  3. Strong understanding of garment construction, materials, and production processes, especially for activewear.
  4. Hands-on experience working in in-house manufacturing environments.
  5. Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  6. Proficient in MS Office (Excel in particular) and production tracking systems.
  7. Strong communication skills to coordinate across design, production, and sales teams.
  8. High attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  9. Knowledge of innovative practices and raw material vendors in activewear production is a plus.
