Siemen's Energy is at the forefront of helping customers navigate the world's most pressing energy challenges. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing HVDC/AC Substation layouts and interdisciplinary coordination.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare all primary engineering deliverables, leveraging international project experience and exposure to IEC and IEEE standards.
  • Design and develop substation layouts and section drawings (2D & 3D) for proposals and real projects based on customer specifications.
  • Prepare, review, and validate bills of material for tenders and real projects.
  • Lead all design calculations related to primary engineering.
  • Design and develop grounding systems, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Design and develop lightning protection systems, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Verify technical data sheets for primary equipment.
  • Stay up-to-date with primary (HV) equipment, including GIS, circuit breakers, disconnectors, earthing switches, instrument transformers, power transformers, etc.
  • Provide optimized and customized solutions for various substations, applying creativity to drive continuous project development.
  • Plan inter-disciplinary meetings with internal and external customers as required.
  • Evaluate vendor offers and participate in FAT/SAT of primary equipment and systems as needed.
  • Assess technical risks and opportunities and validate them.
  • Participate in customer meetings and site visits for tender/project clarifications.
  • Estimate engineering effort for each project development and continuously innovate ideas to reduce engineering effort while maintaining quality.

  • Be self-motivated, results-oriented, and flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced team environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate or Post Graduate in Electrical with a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in primary design for AC/HVDC substations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to work in interdisciplinary teams.
  • Good knowledge of substation primary and secondary design interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with Autodesk tools, including Inventor, Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
