Clinical Data Specialist Job Description

The Clinical Data Specialist role plays a vital part in the Clinical Data Management team, providing essential data management expertise. Their primary goal is to ensure the delivery of efficient and high-quality data management products that cater to customer needs.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for one protocol with less than 5 operations staff or 15+ central laboratory studies. This includes leading teams and conducting day-to-day activities.
  • Act as a backup support system to a Data Operations Coordinator (DOC) or Data Team Lead (DTL).
  • Perform detailed data reviews and create written responses to clarify any data discrepancies.
  • Lead audits on databases, develop and test new databases, and refine specifications.
  • Conduct thorough testing of programming and clinical data coding.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical, Biological, or related field is preferred. Alternatively, an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
