Emulation Infrastructure Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Emulation Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading our emulation infrastructure, as well as acting as a primary interface to emulation vendors.

As an Emulation Infrastructure Specialist, you will have the chance to explore new methodologies, gather feedback from the team, and implement new workflows and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and upgrade our emulation infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Serve as the primary interface to emulation vendors, fostering strong relationships and resolving technical issues efficiently.
  • Develop tooling and automation to support emulation EDA tools, licensing, and job management in Google infrastructure.
  • Support team members in debugging hardware, tooling, and project-specific issues.
  • Implement external interfaces on emulation platforms, creating standalone test cases for tool issues encountered in compile and runtime flows.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with emulation systems, including maintenance, upgrades, and methodology enhancements.
  • Expertise in associated EDA tools and automation flow enhancements.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (e.g., C, C++, Perl, TCL, Python) and debug tools (e.g., Verdi, SimVision / Indago, gdb).
Preferred Qualifications

A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, along with 5 years of industry experience, would be highly desirable. Additionally, experience deploying EDA tools into distributed environments and supporting their efficient usage would be beneficial.

Familiarity with RTL design, Verilog and simulation (VCS, Incisive, Questa), System Verilog (DPI and transactors), assertions, system administration, networking, and security systems would also be advantageous.
