Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Control Assurance Specialist to join our team. This role will be responsible for partnering with the bank to provide independent assurance on control processes and advise on improvements to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the bank to maintain a satisfactory, robust, and efficient control environment through the execution of ad-hoc assessments and testing on the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls aligned to control policies and standards.
  • Develop detailed test plans and procedures to identify weaknesses in internal controls and other initiatives aligned to the bank's control framework to mitigate any potential risks and issues prioritized by its severity to disrupt bank operations, potential losses, and reputational impact.
  • Communicate key findings and observations to relevant stakeholders and business units to improve overall control efficiency and provide corrective actions to senior managers.
  • Collaborate with other control professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure consistent testing methodologies across the bank.
  • Develop a knowledge centre containing detailed documentation of control assessments, testing on design and operational effectiveness of procedures, findings, and the distribution of material on internal controls to train and upskill colleagues within the bank.

Requirements:

  • Impactful analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in risk management, audit, or control functions.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
  • Proven track record of identifying and mitigating control risks and developing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Other:

Please note that this is a full-time position with a hybrid working arrangement. You will be required to work from home two days a week and at our onsite location three days a week.
