Linux System Administrator Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled professional with 5+ years of experience managing Linux operating systems.

  • Manage and maintain Linux operating systems, including RedHat 6/7/8 and CentOS.
  • Administer Unix/Linux systems, including building and configuring VMs, software package installation, account maintenance, file permissions, system tuning.
  • Perform performance troubleshooting, manage system services, and implement system hardening.
  • Assist with release management and patching, as well as break/fix issues.
  • Implement solid understanding of TCP/IP networking in the OSI model in LAN/WAN environments.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to resolve customer-facing incidents.
  • Utilize VMware environments and other cloud administration (AWS, Azure, Google) experience is a plus.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5+ years' experience as a Linux systems administrator or equivalent education or training.
  • Degree resulting in an associate or bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and relevant professional certifications.
  • Familiarity with ITIL and ticketing systems.
  • Experience with enterprise systems for monitoring.
  • Relevant certifications: RHCSA, RHCE, CCENT, VMware VCP, AWS, Azure.
