Computer-Aided Design Operations Specialist

The primary role of this position is to provide technical support and expertise in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) operations. This role requires a deep understanding of CAD systems, architectural and engineering drawings, as well as the ability to manage and mentor a team of CAD technicians.
This position will involve organizing and planning your own workload while assisting in directing the workload of other CAD Support Technicians. You will also be responsible for providing technical guidance and support for CAD operations, ensuring all drawings meet quality standards and project specifications.
Key responsibilities include reviewing and approving CAD drawings, providing feedback to improve accuracy and efficiency. Additionally, you will facilitate training sessions for CAD Support Technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge.
Collaboration with design teams will be required to prepare detailed technical submissions including schematics and drawings. Pre and post-project design meetings will also be necessary to ensure all requirements are met.
Maintaining project timelines and CAD submissions to ensure deadlines are met will be a key aspect of this role. Furthermore, you will assist in the development of CAD standards and best practices within the team.
Providing answers to technical questions from team members and stakeholders as needed will also be an important part of this position.
Required Skills and Qualifications- Bachelor s Degree in Computer-Aided Design, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in CAD support or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of CAD software, particularly AutoCAD and related tools.
- Experience in mentoring and managing CAD technicians.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering and architectural drawings.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
