About the Role

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Lead Consultant Specialist. In this role, you will:

  • Develop and maintain software products in the Core Banking technology stack
  • Provide support across the end-to-end delivery and run lifecycle. Carry out software development, testing and operational support activities with the ability to move between the technology stacks
  • Advocate and advance modern software development practices within the Core Banking engineering community. Grow the technical expertise of engineering community
  • Helping in designing, maintaining, and improving all aspects of the software delivery lifecycle
  • Collaborate with technical leaders and product owners to contribute to product and project strategy, code standards, roadmap definition, and requirements gathering. Collaborate with the recruiting team and regional Heads of Engineering to attract, onboard, and retain diverse top talent.
  • Participate in broader discussions about future state software architecture .Working with Ops, Dev, and Test Engineers to ensure operational issues (performance, operator intervention, alerting, design defect related issues, etc.) are identified and addressed at all stages of a product or service release / change.
  • Liaise with other engineers, architects, agile coaches, and other stakeholders to understand and drive the Core Banking product strategy
  • Work closely with teams, product owners, agile coaches, and other stakeholders to ensure we deliver world-class tools and capabilities for our engineering community . Actively participate in the Engineering Discipline and associated communities
  • Keep up to date and have expertise on current tools, technologies and areas like cyber security and regulations pertaining to aspects like data privacy, consent, data residency

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

  • Solid experience on engineering and delivering software products
  • Proven hands-on experience on RPG, RPGLE, SQL, CLLE CL OS/400, DB2/400
  • Knowledge of API & Microservices, designing & developing responsive UI components
  • Knowledge of HSBC Core Banking systems and its interfaces, exposure to large upgrades, programmes or MnA projects preferred Knowledge of design concepts and design patterns
  • Familiar with security practices for developmentGood troubleshooting skills
  • Sound verbal and written communication to interact with global teams. Good Interpersonal skills
  • Good to have knowledge of tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, JIRA, Confluence. Knowledge of cloud environments.Experience as Lead in a large-scale engineering environment
  • Strong Leadership .Mentoring Senior Engineers. Experience collaborating effectively across multiple engineering centers in multiple territories across time zones.
  • Experience in fostering a strong engineering culture in an agile and DevOps environment.Track record of identifying and implementing opportunities to enable engineers to develop more productively and with high quality.
  • Knowledge of HSBC Core Banking systems and its interfaces, exposure to large upgrades, programmes or MnA projects preferred
