The role of Purchase Head involves strategic investment in Urban Electric Power, a company commercializing zinc anode battery technology. This innovative rechargeable battery offers a safer, lower-cost, high-performance alternative to lead acid and Li-ion batteries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Global procurement of raw materials and equipment to ensure optimal pricing and quality.
  • Operational excellence in material management, including benchmarking, quality assurance, and supplier audits.
  • Vendor management and development, mapping the supply market, and establishing effective vendor databases.
  • Collaboration with manufacturing, design & development, and sales teams to drive cost reduction initiatives and optimize processes.
  • Organizational imperatives, including talent development, team retention, and statutory compliance.
Requirements:
  • 12 years of work experience in purchase and vendor development or 10 years of work experience in supply chain management or operations.
  • Preferred: Experience in metal/energy industry, UPS/electronics, or battery sector.
  • Skills: negotiation, communication, time management, process orientation, interpersonal skills, result orientation, techno-commercial acumen, knowledge of commercial aspects, decision-making ability, and risk management.
