Job Description:

  • About the Role
    • We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to join our team at WTW. As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our database systems.
  • Main Responsibilities:
    • Install and configure database software according to organizational needs, setting up database parameters for optimal performance.
    • Perform regular database maintenance tasks, such as backups, restores, and index rebuilds, monitoring database performance and tuning configurations as necessary.
    • Implement and enforce security measures to protect sensitive data, managing user access to databases and granting permissions as needed.
    • Identify and resolve database issues, such as performance bottlenecks or data corruption, optimizing SQL queries and database configurations for improved performance.
    • Document database configurations, processes, and procedures, generating reports on database performance, usage, and security.
    • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other technical staff to ensure smooth integration of database systems.
  • The Requirements:
    • Proven experience as a Database Administrator or in a similar role.
    • Experience working with Unix systems (RedHat/AIX) and Windows Servers.
    • Proficiency in database management systems, including Oracle, MySQL, and MS SQL Server.
    • Strong understanding of database design, normalization, and optimization, as well as knowledge of data security practices and principles.
    • Experience with database backup and recovery procedures, familiarity with SQL and database programming languages.
    • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, strong communication and collaboration abilities.
    • Certification in database administration is a plus, flexibility and willingness to assist with other technical responsibilities.
