Job Description:

This role is responsible for providing comprehensive academic support to faculty and students in a course setting. The Academic Support Specialist will serve as a liaison between the two groups, facilitating communication and ensuring that all course-related tasks are completed efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate course material discussions and development with faculty
  • Develop quizzes, assignments, and grading rubrics in collaboration with faculty
  • Evaluate student submissions, including quizzes, assignments, and exams
  • Provide guidance on course concepts and clarify doubts for students
  • Conduct lab sessions or tutorial sessions as required
  • Guide students in course-specific projects and capstone
  • Mark attendance and class participation daily
  • Discuss class participation with faculty to determine grades
  • Invigilate exams and quizzes
  • Manage the Learning Management System (LMS), uploading attendance, pre-reads, post-reads, quizzes, etc.
  • Gather, compress, and upload class recordings daily
  • Maintain academic discipline in the classroom
Qualifications and Requirements:

An ideal candidate should have a strong academic background and aspire to pursue teaching or a doctoral program.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Post-Graduate degree in Sport Management from a reputable institution/University

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience working in sport – commercial or academic in relevant domain: consulting, sport marketing, sport event delivery, sport market research; with a proven track record of theoretical and applied knowledge in the field of Sport Management
  • Previous knowledge of program assessment, curriculum design, implementation, and evaluation will be given preference

Job-Specific Knowledge and Skills:

  • Self-motivated team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent MS Office skills; demonstrated proficiency in Excel and Word, and additionally comfortable with web-based tools
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
