Network Engineering Role OverviewA network engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and management of computer networks. This involves coordinating with internet service providers (ISPs) and vendors to resolve link-related issues and ensure high-performance WAN links.The network engineer must also detect and respond to network incidents proactively, with clear escalation procedures and communication channels. Regular reports on network performance, including bandwidth utilization, latency, uptime, and availability metrics, are essential for network optimization.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage private links to connect remote sites with redundancy and failover solutions.
  • Enable dynamic routing and bandwidth optimization across regions using SD-WAN solutions.
  • Provide mechanisms to minimize jitter, latency, and packet loss, ensuring an optimal user experience for global collaboration tools.
WAN Management:
  • Manage WAN links connecting all branches with redundancy and high availability for office locations and retail outlets across the country.
  • Ensure stable and secure network connections for all branch offices and locations, with real-time monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Perform L2 network troubleshooting, capacity trend/problem identification, patching, configuration management.
LAN/Wi-Fi Management:
  • Full lifecycle management of LAN, including switch configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage the Wi-Fi network, ensuring coverage, security, and performance for both office and remote locations.
  • Provide secure, segregated guest Wi-Fi access with appropriate bandwidth controls.
Audit Participation:
  • Participate in all audits requested by customers, including filling in required forms and collecting relevant data.
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all requested audit materials.
  • Complete all audit questionnaires and related documents as required by customers, ensuring thoroughness and compliance with the scope of the service provided.
