We are seeking an accomplished professional to lead the direct tax function across multiple regions.

This role demands extensive knowledge of direct taxes, international taxation, tax audits, and managing litigations in a timely manner.

The ideal candidate will oversee compliance, transactional tax management, audits, and process improvements to ensure timely and accurate adherence to tax laws while optimizing business efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Tax Planning Strategy:
    • Develop and drive tax planning strategies to maximize tax savings and benefits for current business transactions and future plans.
    • Collaborate with the business to identify and implement tax optimization opportunities.
  • Documentation and Information Management:
    • Lead the team in gathering necessary documentation and information for tax returns, tax planning, and tax outflow forecasts.
  • Assessments, Appeal & Litigations Management:
    • Coordinate with the team to ensure timely completion of assessments and follow-ups.
  • Timely and Compliant Tax Filings:
    • Ensure the timely and accurate filing of direct taxes in compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Tax Optimization for International Projects:
    • Analyze various tax treaties and assess the taxability of income to manage tax optimization across international projects.
  • Impact of Direct Tax Laws:
    • Monitor changes in direct tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.

Skill Requirements

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 15-18 years of experience in tax department of any multinational company.
  • Experience in EPC sector is an added advantage.
  • In-depth knowledge of direct taxes, especially assessment, appeal, transfer pricing assessment, and tax audit.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of representation before tax authorities.
  • Hands-on experience of dealing with auditors and tax consultants.

You should demonstrate resilience by overcoming challenges and staying calm under pressure.
