Senior Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Role Overview

This position forms part of our Global Excellence Centre (GEC), a centralized project delivery group at Arcadis. The GEC consists of over 3,000 talented individuals working across India, Romania, and the Philippines, providing capability, capacity, and a competitive advantage through unique projects and services in collaboration with global businesses.

The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer specializes in designing, developing, and inspecting instrumentation and controls equipment, components, or systems for life-science, biopharmaceutical, and/or microelectronics/semiconductor facilities. They study new technologies and research innovative solutions and product designs. This engineer works on advanced, complex technical projects or business issues requiring state-of-the-art technical or industry knowledge.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Review and develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in conjunction with Process and Mechanical Engineers.
  • Select, apply, and specify instrumentation required to support processes.
  • Develop Instrument Data Sheets and lists, Panel layouts, and details.
  • Interact and coordinate with project management, vendors, clients, design members, and fellow engineers to solve process engineering and piping issues.
  • Produce and review 2D and 3D design drawings for facilities in accordance with project requirements, codes, specifications, and procedures.
  • Participate in multi-discipline coordination & clash checking efforts.
  • Perform site surveys of existing services to ascertain as-built conditions.
  • Support corporate and discipline-specific procedures and policies by active participation.
  • Contribute to the development of the Discipline knowledge base and standards.
  • Perform self QA/QC on deliverables, as well as on deliverables by other engineers.
  • Perform tasks within the agreed-upon budget and schedule.
  • Be a team player and perform tasks individually when required.
  • Follow company standards and procedures, including design and QA checking.
  • Provide I&C design to support process control and plant automation.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation or a related field.
  • 7 or more years of I&C and Automation design experience in Process industries.
  • Good knowledge of norms and standards related to Instrumentation engineering.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and MS Project).
  • Technical and quality focus.
  • Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Good planning, organizational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position.

Compensation

The estimated salary for this position is around $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
