Job Overview:

The WSP Aviation team seeks an accomplished Airfield Design Expert with a strong background in civil engineering to lead airfield design projects through various stages. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality airfield engineering services, managing project teams, and collaborating with industry associates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective design strategies for airfield engineering projects.
  • Lead project teams, providing technical guidance and direction to junior members.
  • Prepare technical reports, calculations, drawings, and specifications for airfield engineering projects.
  • Participate in technical design reviews and provide input throughout the design process.
  • Effectively communicate with team members, industry associates, and clients.
  • Identify and manage design risks, issues, and Request for Information (RFIs).
  • Support Project Managers by monitoring project progress and contributing to project controls.
  • Implement technical quality requirements and meet client deadlines.
  • Champion excellent health and safety in design.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Candidates should have exceptional technical skills and expertise in civil engineering projects at airports.
  • Minimum Requirements: 10 years of experience in civil infrastructure design at airports, managing engineering professionals, strong communication skills, self-leadership, multi-tasking, and prioritization.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team, meeting business objectives.
  • Experience of international airfield design standards such as ICAO and FAA, knowledge of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and relevant airfield engineering design software packages.
