Test Engineer Job Description

The ideal candidate for this position will be responsible for performing EMI/EMC analyses and testing, ensuring compliance with automotive industry standards.

  • This involves reviewing electronic component datasheets and application notes for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection schemes.
  • Additionally, the engineer must analyze schematics and circuit board layouts for adherence to EMC design practices and guidelines.
  • A strong understanding of RF and EMC standards is necessary, including FCC, CISPR-25, ECE-R10, AIS-004, IEC, and EN.
  • The candidate should also be proficient in simulations through functional and logical models, system analysis, and lab equipment operation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on implementing EMC/EMI requirements.
  • Analyze test results, identify EMC issues, and recommend design modifications and mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on EMC design principles and best practices.
  • Negotiate with stakeholders for EMC/EMI deviations where applicable.

Requirements:

  • Mastery of digital and analog circuit design, schematic capture, and PCB layout process.
  • Extensive experience in laboratory equipment operation and analytical software.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are required to work independently or in teams with various stakeholders.
