Fresh Produce Category Manager

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development and execution of growth plans for fresh produce categories.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and execute strategic growth plans across vegetables and fruits.
- Track market trends, customer demand patterns, and supplier dynamics.
- Define assortment strategies for each category, including variety selection, pack sizes, and sourcing regions.
- Drive sales of assigned categories across various channels, including ecommerce, quick commerce, and institutional buyers.
- Build strong relationships with customers and close deals to achieve revenue and margin targets.
- Recruit, train, and manage a sales team to scale with category volumes.
- Establish strong supplier networks across regions:
- Vegetables: Develop relationships with suppliers in key production areas, ensuring consistent quality and supply reliability.
- Fruits: Source high-quality fruits from multiple regions, exploring import/export opportunities for off-season coverage.
- Negotiate procurement contracts to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains.
- Align with procurement and operations teams to optimize farm-to-customer movement, minimizing wastage and cost.
- Ensure freshness and availability across the portfolio.
- Manage the financial performance of assigned categories, monitoring revenues, margins, and working capital.
- Generate regular performance dashboards highlighting risks and opportunities.
- Strong understanding of fresh produce value chains, including seasonality, market dynamics, and supplier management.
- Proven sales experience with ability to close deals and grow revenues.
- Negotiation and vendor management expertise.
- Analytical skills to track price trends, demand forecasts, and category economics.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with supply chain, operations, sales, and finance teams.
- Entrepreneurial and execution-focused mindset.
Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or a related field.
