Azure Data Engineer

Overview of the Role:

As a skilled data professional, you will design and develop robust data platforms using various Azure services to deliver raw data into analytics-ready assets. You will work on building efficient data environments and ensuring secure data storage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources into the Azure data platform.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses and data lakes.
  • Manage data storage and organization within Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2.
  • Transform raw data into analytics-ready datasets using tools like dbt.
  • Integrate and work with various Azure services, including Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, and Cosmos DB.
  • Implement and optimize Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) processes.
  • Maintain data security best practices and monitor data pipeline performance.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience with key Azure data services.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles, data modeling, and ETL/ELT concepts.
  • Experience with version control systems and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment practices.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
