Network Security Engineer Role Overview">

As a Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the security protocols and systems that protect an organization's computer systems and networks from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, or destruction.

The primary goal of this role is to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive data and prevent cyber threats.

You will work closely with the IT team to identify potential security risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. This includes conducting vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and implementing security controls such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies.

Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams to ensure that security practices are integrated into all aspects of the business, including software development, operations, and incident response.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement secure network architecture and protocols
  • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments
  • Develop and implement incident response plans
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security into business processes
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging security threats and trends

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in network security, with a focus on threat prevention and mitigation
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, and HTTP
  • Knowledge of security frameworks, such as NIST 800-53 and ISO 27001
  • Experience with security tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption technologies
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
