About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Information Security Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems security, and access controls.

  • This role involves monitoring security systems and logs for unusual activity and potential threats.
  • You will be responsible for investigating and responding to security incidents and alerts in real time.
  • Performing vulnerability assessments and assisting in remediation efforts is also a key aspect of this position.
  • Regular audits of systems, networks, and applications will be conducted to ensure security compliance.
  • You will support implementation and enforcement of security policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Analyzing threat intelligence feeds and recommending appropriate mitigation steps is a critical component of this role.
  • Assisting in security awareness training and phishing simulations is also required.
  • Preparing incident reports, risk assessments, and security dashboards is essential.
  • Collaboration with IT teams on secure configuration and system hardening is also necessary.
Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a security operations or cyber defense role is preferred.
  • Familiarity with security tools such as SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), EDR, IDS/IPS, and firewalls is essential.
  • Strong analytical thinking and communication skills are necessary for success in this role.
Desirable Skills:
  • Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, SSCP, or CISM/CISSP are desirable.
  • Experience with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell) for automating security tasks is also beneficial.
