Job Title: Senior Bridge Design Engineer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced senior bridge design engineer to join our team. As a senior bridge design engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking assessments of existing bridges and preparing reports on steel composite and pretension/posttension structures.

You will also be required to carry out feasibility studies for strengthening and repair, prepare new bridge designs and strengthening designs to UK standards, and ensure compliance with appropriate design and health and safety standards.

In addition, you will be expected to carry out design and assessment checks under the guidance of a senior or principal engineer, prepare or assist in compiling drawings, specifications, reports, and correspondence within given deadlines, and ensure QA, document control, archiving, and CDM guidelines are followed on all work.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in bridge design and assessment
  • Strong knowledge of UK design and health and safety standards
  • Excellent technical skills in MIDAS, LUSAS, Superstress, SAM, ARCHIE, and other computer-aided design software
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate complex ideas clearly
  • Self-motivated learner with a commitment to ongoing professional development
