Job Title: Animal Welfare Advocate

This is a full-time position that involves conducting field investigations in our focus areas, including animal experimentation, food, clothing, entertainment, and labor.

• We are seeking an experienced investigator to conduct short- and long-term investigations, including covert operations, from beginning to end.
• The successful candidate will perform desk research on animal protection laws and issues, analyzing technical papers, watching videos, and employing various means to prepare for investigations.
• They will travel to locations for assignments, staying for several weeks or months if required.
• Our ideal candidate will use methods to visit industries using animals, obtain documents, and work with trusted contacts to maintain confidentiality.
• They will document conditions and use of animals, as well as illegal conduct, through photography and videography.
• Adherence to department SOPs, logging evidence meticulously, and working with in-house counsels to assess evidence is essential.
• Preparing reports, working with experts, and cooperating in police and court proceedings is also a key responsibility.

• Investigative journalism experience or relevant experience is preferred.
• Basic veterinary knowledge or experience is a plus.
• Experience as an Honorary Animal Welfare Representative is a plus.
• Fluency in English and Hindi, with fluency in other Indian languages is a plus.
• Proven research skills, excellent communication skills, and ability to handle stress and trauma are essential.
• Able to make sound judgements, work independently, and maintain confidentiality.
