The Role

We seek a results-driven individual to lead the scientific manuscript publication process. This role will oversee cross-functional teams across peer review, content writing, and video production to deliver high-volume scientific publications efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage teams ensuring smooth publishing operations.
  • Oversee the complete manuscript workflow from peer review to publication, prioritizing timeliness, quality, and adherence to journal standards.
  • Identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks; implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase throughput and reduce publication timelines.
  • Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies like AI to optimize workflows, enhance productivity, and improve the author experience.
  • Define team KPIs and departmental goals; monitor performance and ensure accountability.
  • Maintain scientific rigor and editorial excellence across all published content, aligning with journal standards.
  • Respond to emerging research trends by identifying new sections or special issues.
Requirements
  • A Master's or Ph.D. in life sciences.
  • 10+ years of experience in academic, scientific publishing, or edtech content production, specializing in managing publication workflows.
  • 7+ years of proven management experience.
  • A strong understanding of peer review, open access trends, and evolving scientific publishing models.
  • Experience with digital publishing technologies, Content Management System (CMS), and workflow automation tools.
  • Demonstrated expertise in integrating technology and digital tools to improve publishing workflows, quality, and efficiency.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication skills.
  • A self-starter with a results-driven mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment.
